NicoChat Bot Templates

Introduction
Templates are complete bots and pre-designed add-ons — bot structures that are already configured. They are made by developers and by other users to provide ready-made, easy-to-use bot structures that increase the accuracy and efficiency of the work. Any user can create their own template by following the creation steps described below.
Templates can include all the flows, variables, automation, tools, menus and URL triggers of a ready-made bot.
Use cases
There are several templates available in the NicoChat template store, and each one is built for a specific purpose. Some of these use cases are listed below:
Customer Support: assisting customers with questions and issues in real time.
Lead generation: qualifying and capturing potential sales leads.
E-commerce: helping users browse products, make purchases and track orders.
Appointment scheduling: booking appointments or reservations.
FAQs: providing answers to the most frequently asked questions.
HR and recruitment: managing job applications and HR-related queries.
Healthcare: offering medical guidance, appointment scheduling and health information.
Travel and booking: assisting with travel reservations, flight information and recommendations.
Banking & Financing: providing account information, transaction history and financial insights.
Education: supporting students with course information and learning resources.
The template store
To install a template from the store, simply go to the template store, where many templates created by users and by NicoChat developers are available.
Bot prices range from free to paid. The user can select and install the type of bot they want in the NicoChat template store.
Installing a bot from the template store
Let's take this bot as an example to install from the template store.
The process has three simple steps, but each one requires attention so that the bot is installed correctly. To start, click the Install Template button.
Step 1
Step 1 is to check whether the bot's construction is suitable for the work it has to do.
On the step 1 page there is a table on the left side with a summary of the bot's construction.
Steps represent the number of nodes used to carry out the task required of the bot, and Custom Fields represent the number of variables created by users specifically for this bot. The number of subflows represents how many flows will be installed in the bot. Keywords represent the number of special keywords used in the bot.
Step 2
The second step is to choose the right bot, the one the bot template will be used in. If there is no bot to use, the system will ask the user to create a new bot before installing the bot template.
Users can search the bots they have already created in the workspace and choose the one the bot template will be used in. Before moving on to the third step, you must confirm that the correct bot is selected.
Step 3
The final step describes more details about the bot that will be installed.
Finally, to install the bot, click the “Install now” button to get a link to the bot. The new bot template will be installed.
Creating a bot template
NicoChat allows users to create their own bot templates, which can be sold at the price they set or offered for free to other users.
To create a bot template, go to the My Templates/Apps option on the left-hand side of the page; from there a page like this one will be displayed.
Before starting to create a bot template, users should know the options on this page, which help to achieve better results when creating bot templates.
Bot Templates
This option allows users to see all the bot templates they have already created.
Template Installations
This option allows users to see all the bot templates that are already installed.
Template Sales
This feature allows users to see how many sales were generated by the bot templates created for sale.
New template
Users can create bot templates by clicking the New Template button, which starts the process of creating a new bot template.
This is the first step in creating a bot template. In it, the user indicates the source bot, that is, the bot that will be turned into a template. You must confirm that the correct source bot is selected.
Step 2
The second step in the bot template creation process is selecting the type of bot that will be turned into a template.
Bot Template
This option takes the entire bot and turns it into a template that will either create a new bot for the user or replace the existing bot with the installed template.
SubFlow Template
The subflow template lets you take the bot template and use it in existing bots, working as part of the existing bot. Just choose the flows that will be part of the subflow template.
Step 3
After choosing between Bot Template and SubFlow Template, another page appears with information about the bot. This is the Content Review page, which shows the content the bot already contains. The information is displayed on the right side, in the Content Overview box.
Step 4
In this step, users give the template a name and detail the information in the description, and they can enter a specific version of the template, which is optional.
You can also upload a custom image to give the template a more personalized look.
The Auto Update feature allows users to update the template and, at the same time, propagate the update to the users who are already using it.
Lastly, the publishable template option allows users to give other users access to update and publish this template as their own versions.
- The editable option allows users to grant access to edit the template flows for their own use; if the template edit option is not enabled, the template will not be editable for users.
- The viewable option allows the user to grant other users access to view the template details and flows; if the option is not enabled, only the description provided by the user will be shown.
This way, in a few steps, users can create their own templates.
Editing the template
Editing the template allows users to further customize the template's behavior for other users.
When you click the edit button, a full page with customizable information is displayed, where the user can adjust every detail of the template.
- The link type can be changed from One Time Link to a permanent link, and there are also public and private link options.
- The default setting is the permanent Shared Link, which allows you to use the template link at any time
- The public link allows all users to access the template, but only if it is approved and listed in the NicoChat template store.
- The One Time Link allows users to create a single-use link, which can be used privately or publicly and prevents the template from being opened several times from the same link.
- The private link allows users to create a link to be used only within the workspace. The link will not work if it is not accessed from the same workspace.
- The template price can also be changed in the template price option. (The default is free)
- Details about the templates can be updated, and the guidelines allow users to explain the template's behaviors and installation details.
- The Category section is also used to specify the type of template, which helps users search for exactly the type they need.
- If a template demo has been recorded, just add the link in the demo option to help users get to know the template better.
- Lastly, you can also upload several images to give the template a more personalized touch.
To update the template, you will need to go back to the source flow in "All Channels", edit it and come back here to click "Update Flow". The system will list the differences between the old version and the updated version.
Installing a publishable template
When installing a publishable-only template, the system warns the user that the template is publishable only and that they will not be able to view or edit the template flows.
After installing the template, the flows will not open, because the flow was publishable only.
Editable template
At installation time, the editable-only template notifies the user about the template's behavior.
Users can only see the folder and the number of flows installed in the bot, but they cannot see what is inside the folders — the same as what happens with publishable-only templates.
Viewable-only templates
When installing a viewable-only template, the system informs users of the conditions and the restrictions of this type of template.
A viewable-only template will open and users will be able to examine the flows, but they will not be able to edit or publish them, because of the restriction that the template is viewable only.
