Introduction

NicoTools is a tool developed to optimize and extend NicoChat's features. With several additional features, NicoTools is designed to make the user experience more efficient and adaptable to each person's individual needs. This document will cover the main characteristics of NicoTools, focusing initially on the text splitting feature.

Text Splitter

The text splitter is an advanced NicoTools feature that allows the intelligent segmentation of texts into specific blocks or variables. Designed to be extremely useful in scenarios that involve the analysis and manipulation of large volumes of text, this tool makes it easier to organize and handle textual data precisely.

  • Intelligent Text Splitting: The splitter recognizes and respects punctuation in order to make precise cuts, ensuring that the semantic integrity of the text is preserved. It also ignores URLs (such as https://www.site.com), abbreviations (e.g.: Dr. João) and enumerations (e.g.: 1. number 1), ensuring that essential elements of the text are not split incorrectly.
  • Flexibility in the Number of Blocks: The user can specify the desired number of blocks, from 2 up to 10. The tool adapts to the size of the original text to distribute the sentences evenly across the blocks. For example, if a text contains 10 sentences and the user chooses to split it into 10 blocks, each block will contain one sentence. If the text contains 20 sentences and the split into 10 blocks is chosen, each block will have 2 sentences.
  • Text Storage Variables: After the split, the text blocks are stored in specific variables, making it easier to manage and use this data later. The variables are named sequentially (text 1, text 2, etc.), with a special variable called "last text" that automatically stores the last block, which is crucial for cases where the number of blocks is smaller than expected.
  • Block Count: An additional variable, "number of texts", is available so that the user can check how many blocks were actually created, offering a practical way to validate the segmentation performed.

To use the NicoTools text splitter, follow the steps below:

  • In the NicoTools interface, enter the text you want to split.
  • Specify the number of blocks you want (between 2 and 10).
  • Run the split function.
  • Access the generated variables to use the segmented texts as needed.

Suppose you want to split the following text: "Hello, world! Welcome to NicoTools. Here, you can split texts easily." If you choose to split it into three blocks, the result would be:

  • Text 1: "Hello, world!"
  • Text 2: "Welcome to NicoTools."
  • Text 3: "Here, you can split texts easily."
  • Last Text: "Here, you can split texts easily."
  • Number of Texts: 3

Remove Double Quotes Function

The NicoTools remove double quotes function is an essential tool for ensuring the integrity of data sent in external requests. Because of the way double quotes can interfere with the structure of strings in several programming languages, this feature provides a safe way to prepare texts for transmissions that require specific formats.

This function automatically identifies and replaces all double quotes (") with single quotes (') within a given text. This replacement prevents common errors in external requests, where double quotes can break the request string when they are incorrectly interpreted as string delimiters.

Imagine you need to send the following text in an API request: My name is "Nicola". Using the remove double quotes function, the text would be corrected to: My name is 'Nicola'., preventing the string from being broken by the presence of improper double quotes.

This feature is particularly useful for developers who work with API integrations or any scenario that requires sending texts safely, without the risk of interruption due to string formatting errors. With this tool, NicoTools provides one more layer of security and efficiency for text processing and manipulation.

Text to JSON or Array Transformation Function

The text to JSON or Array transformation feature in NicoTools is designed to make it easier to handle data received in plain text formats, and it is especially useful in API integration scenarios, such as those of OpenAI. This tool automatically converts strings formatted as JSON into usable JSON objects or Arrays, simplifying the interaction with structured data without requiring advanced JavaScript knowledge.

This function detects and converts strings that represent JSON objects or arrays into real, manipulable data structures. This allows users to access, modify and interact with the data programmatically within their workflow.

Suppose you have received a response from the OpenAI API in text format: '{"result": ["item1", "item2", "item3"]}'. Using the text to JSON transformation function:

  • You enter the string in NicoTools.
  • You choose to convert it into an Array.
  • NicoTools processes the string and converts it into a JavaScript Array: ["item1", "item2", "item3"].

This allows you to directly access result[0], result[1], etc., in your code, making it easier to handle and use the returned data.

This feature ensures that users can easily integrate data from APIs and other external sources into their applications or processes without facing technical barriers, making NicoTools an indispensable tool for anyone who works with technology and data.

Profile Photo Update Function

The NicoTools profile photo update function is a simple and effective tool that allows users to update their profile photos through a specified URL. This feature is ideal for systems that require the customization or automatic updating of profile images on platforms or applications.

When the URL of a new profile image is entered, NicoTools automatically updates the user's profile photo in the specific context in which it is being used.

Imagine you are managing a platform where users need to have their profile photos updated to reflect a promotion or a special event. Simply enter the URL of the promotional image in NicoTools, and the profile photo of every user who goes through the specific flow will be updated. For example, if the URL is https://example.com/new-profile-pic.jpg, NicoTools will replace the current profile photo with the image located at that address.

This feature is an excellent addition for any system administrator or application developer who wants to keep an efficient and dynamic management of users' profile images, without complications and in an automated way.

Functions to operate another channel in NicoChat
