Enabling the Channel

To enable NicoChat's additional channels, go to “Workspace Settings” > “Channels”, enable the desired channel and click “Update”, as shown in the image:

Viber is another popular messaging app. In this article, we will see how to link a Viber Bot to NicoChat's Viber channel.

You access the Viber channel from the left-hand side of the screen, where all channels are listed.

In the Viber channel, click ‘Add New Viber Bot’ (as shown in the image below).

To create a Viber Chatbot in NicoChat, you need to connect the Viber Bot (from the Viber Partner account) to NicoChat by entering the Viber Bot Token.

Note: to register a Viber Partner account and obtain the Viber Bot Token, you must have an active Viber account (through the Viber app).

To sign up for the Viber Partner account, visit https://partners.viber.com/login

Enter the number you registered in your Viber app. Viber will send a 6-digit verification code to your Viber app.

This is how the 6-digit Viber verification code arrives in your Viber app.

Enter the 6-digit code sent by Viber to log in to the Viber Partner account.

By default, the new Viber Partner account requires registering the Viber Bot account. The down arrow indicates the Bot account registration form.

To complete the Bot account registration, the following information is required:

  • Account image (400px * 400px)
  • Account name
  • URL (it is filled in automatically, but it can also be changed)
  • Category
  • Subcategory
  • Language
  • Account description
  • Website address (optional)
  • Email address
  • Location (and country)
  • Viber Terms and Conditions.

After filling in all the required fields, click the 'Create' button at the bottom of the form, as shown in the image below (highlighted in red).

The Viber Bot account is created and we already have access to the Viber Bot Token. Let's copy this token and paste it into NicoChat's Viber channel.

Copy the Viber Bot token (as shown in the image above) from the Viber Partner account and paste it into NicoChat's Viber channel. Click ‘Add’, at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Done: the Viber Bot is connected to NicoChat's Viber channel.

Now click ‘Create Flow’ to start creating your Viber Chatbot.

Viber channel limitations

Before deciding to use Viber as a channel, it is worth considering:

  • Viber charges a monthly fee (on the order of EUR 100) for Partner/Bot accounts, charged directly by Viber, not by NicoChat.
  • Text messages have a limit of approximately 2,000 characters.
  • Sending an image/file is done only via URL — there is no direct file upload within the flow.
  • Some features, such as sending a location, may be available only in the Viber mobile app, depending on the user's side.

Prices and terms are set by Viber and may change without prior notice — always confirm the current conditions directly in the Viber Partner account.
